Frequently Asked:

  • How much do granite countertops cost?

Granite installation costs will vary depending on the size of your installation.

The average granite installation costs $50-$100 per square foot of surface area and the cost varies depending on how deep you want your slab to be- it can range from 1/2 " all the way up to 4".

  • What's the difference between granite and quartz?

Granite countertops are the perfect choice for many homeowners who want a natural looking kitchen. Granite is 100% natural, mined from quarries all around the world and cut down to manageable sizes before being polished with an extremely fine finish so your counters will feel like they've been there forever!

Quartz on other hand isn't quite as pure - it's 95% ground quartz mixed in with 5% polymer resins. This isn't all bad though. The manufacturing process involved in quartz countertops makes customization a lot easier, and offers a non-porous surface.

  • Is remodeling my home tax deductible?

We are not financial professionals, you should certainly check with your accountant regarding your state's laws.

That being said, very generally, home renovations are NOT tax deductible.

  • Where do granite countertops come from?

Granite slabs are obtained from special locations called quarries.

They can be found all across the world, but some of the most prolific ones have been in Italy and Brazil. Using powerful machines, and controlled explosions miners blast raw granite out of these sites before putting it on trucks to take them to a stone cutter for processing.

  • Will granite and stone add value to my home?

Home buyers LOVE granite and stone features in a home. This desirablility in the market can help you recoup some of the installation costs.

In some markets these types of improvement can actually increase your home value up to 25%... That's HUGE!
